I put the door seal(s) on my Arrow. I loved the ease of installation. I promised I'd send some pictures. I did the install a few weeks ago but haven't even started the engine. I may want to install another chamber. Let me know your new email address and I'll send the pics. Are you going to Osh Kosh? I've scheduled the week off and my wife has published "The Pilot Alphabet" for kids. She'll be there as well.

 Hi Michael,
We bought both the 01 and 02 seals for our Navajo Chieftain, main door.

The 01 squeeze out seal I used on the upper door that has a BIG gap in the front  and rear.  This helped a lot, there is still a little leak in the top section but not bad.  the jam is about 3" wide so I might add some 02 on the jam to work against the 01 on the door, I will first keep working on getting the door to close tighter if I can. but still, the improvement is so great that we are now getting picky because the door quieted down so much.

The 02 we used on the main door bottom (air stair steps) and it was far easier to install and works perfect!

I have a little left and will use it on the nose baggage door whose seal is leaking.

I am very happy with the product, my partners don't like the look of the 01 when the door is closed, but I told them passengers don't see the door closed with the seal protruding when on the ground because the door is open, and I like the noise level.

I know what you mean about advertising costs in this economy, we just started our charter business in Michigan and have spent a lot on online advertising but have had few trips.

Any Way, to answer your questions, we are very pleased with the seals and will probably get a set of 02 for our warrior in the future.

Les

Mike

I used your product on my C177RG and Baron E55 for doors and baggage.  Overall very happy with results, no water penetration so far and no obvious air gaps except for a small gap on the corner of baggage door of C177RG but that is a aircraft design fault not your product.  I have recommended it to some other owners at my airport and they will probably buy.  So, product was as described and works very well and easily applied.  The major task was the removal of old seal due to wrong sealant.

Web/Manual

Your web site and manual I think do need some work.  Too much information and product description is an over kill.   I use to employ engineers and I know the detail they can get into and lose the customer in their exuberance in selling their ideas.  I found your manual had to be read a few times before I fully understood but maybe that is just me

Advertising/Marketing

I saw recently you advertised in an aero mag ( cannot recall the name maybe Cessna mag ) but remember the advert looked a big improvement over earlier advt I had seen.

In my experience, paid advt does not yield significant sales but it does get your name out there at a cost.  I would be direct marketing to members e.g. Bonanza, CFO etc with special discounts etc and also attending SELECTED  air shows and giving practicable demonstrations of your product and spread your name by word of mouth.  I know that a friend of mine was selling his flight planner software in a similar manner to you and it was only when he started to attend airshows such as those mentioned and ultra lights, kit builders etc that his sales took off.

 Hope this helps

 Regards

P. Fallon

I have a 1960 Comanche.  I only needed the air chamber for the most part.  Working great!  I did use a tiny (maybe 2 inch) piece of the -01 squeeze out to fill in one small gap.

I had my mechanic install the -02 seal on my Cessna 182.  One kit did both doors since the doors seal was cut down the middle and only one chamber was needed for each door.  The mechanic was so pleased and showed off the results to another mechanic who was going to buy a seal kit for his airplane.  My mechanic was especially impressed with sound reduction in the cabin.

Thank you for a good product and I will promote your seals when the subject comes up.

 Michael,

This is in response to your request for comment concerning your door seals. I installed your seals in my 1988 Mooney 201. In short, the wind noise is gone! My aircraft mechanics had little trouble installing the seals and did review the information you have on your website and instructions that came with the seals. When I suggested that they install the seals without removing the door, their response was that was the only way to get good results. Cleaning all the old adhesive from the door is a must. My only concern is that the seals do stick to the door frame when the door is not opened for several weeks, especially in hot weather. I used to put a silicon dressing on my old seals (your competitor seal) to prevent this.  I now longer have that problem.

I’m not sure when I saw your advertisement for the seals but think it might have been in the MAPA Log. I have since noticed it in several other publications. I have no suggestions as to the value of advertisement. I think most owners will go to the web to get some answers. Otherwise, I suggest you find some way to get to all A&E folks out there. They see every aircraft at least once a year and their suggestions concerning seal replacement would probably have more weight than all the copy I all the magazines.

Congratulations on an excellent (so far) product. It performs as advertised.
